EKO HOT BLOG reports that the Imo State Chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has vowed to dethrone the incumbent All Progressive Congress (APC) in 2023.
The opposition party branded the APC as a party beset by irreversible internal conflicts that have resulted in too many sufferings for the people of Imo State and Nigeria as a whole.
The state chairman of the ADC, Ignatius NIlem Esq, announced this at the party secretariat in Owerri, the state capital, during the party’s convention.
“We are here today to reconstitute the leadership of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) Imo State in our resolve to liberate Imo State from the hands of mediocrity and political clueless hawks whose stock in trade is to perpetuate mediocrity at the altar of meritocracy,” the party said in a statement.
“Imo State has been exceedingly unfortunate in producing political leadership from the Houses of Assembly, Federal Houses of Representatives, Senatorial seats, and the Governorship of the State since the Nigerian democracy experiment began in 1999.
“Imo State’s successive leaders have failed to exhibit a resolute political will to lead the state’s people in the face of neck-breaking political, economic, and environmental rivalry throughout the world.”
“While the African Democratic Congress (ADC) strongly condemns successive governments in Imo State’s deliberate failure to hold Local Government Area Council (LGAC) elections on time, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) will take bold steps in every aspect of life in Imo State once ADC is elected to power in the state’s various positions in the upcoming 2023 general elections.
“The African Democratic Congress (ADC) Imo State asks the noble people of Imo State to join the African Democratic Congress (ADC) Imo State and the ADC-led Ballot Revolution in Imo State in 2023.
“The APC’s visionless and unprepared to lead syndrome has plugged the state into irreversible difficulties since their emergence to power, 8 years ago,” the party added.
“We will also take strong steps to address the state’s insecurity and poverty issues because we can no longer afford to see our people die in abject poverty in the midst of wealth.”
Ralph Okey Nwosu, the ADC’s National Chairman, stated that the ADC will produce Nigeria’s next president and that nothing will be able to stop it because Nigerians have rejected both the APC and the PDP.
“The current government has utterly failed, and we will begin selling our forms next week,” he stated. Nomination forms will be provided to youths for free.

“Nigerian young must be ready and quit acting like thugs; as a result, the youth have a strong pedigree; ADC will generate 75% of members in state and national assemblies.” There will be no future if this government remains in power; our congress is a smooth operation with disciplined members.
