Eko Hot Blog reports that the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the Imo State election, Senator Samuel Anyanwu, has cast his vote in the ongoing electoral exercise.
Anyanwu, a former Senator, voted at Amaimo Central School polling unit, Amaimo ward, Ikeduru Local Government Area (LGA) of Imo state.
Addressing journalists after casting his vote, Anyanwu alleged that the All Progressives Congress (APC) hired thugs to disrupt the election.
He also decried the late arrival of voting materials and alleged that gunshots heard in the ward were by security operatives warding off thugs, who he said tried to scuttle the process.
