Eko Hot Blog reports that Kola Abiola made this comment at the Arise News Town Hall Meeting organized for presidential candidates to present their plans, strategies, and innovations to the electorates.
He said this in response to a question by a member of the audience about the candidates’ plans to curb insecurity, especially using technology.
Kola Abiola further remarked that the major problem with Nigerian security forces was a lack of know-how and manpower.
“The technology is there to use. In many cases, they are on the ground. We just don’t utilize them for whatever reason and that speaks to the kind of leadership we have, if not just In our forces but In the helm of government,” he said.
Abiola stated that the solution to poor security in Nigeria is the training of security personnel.
‘It’s training, training, training” he concluded.
In attendance at the Town Hall meeting were the PDP Vice Presidential Candidate – Gov. Ifeanyi Okowa, LP Presidential candidate – Peter Obi, and NNPP Presidential Candidate- Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.
