Pain is one of the primary ways in which our bodies communicate with our brains.
Physical discomfort is something that almost everyone, including the average Nigerian, has had to deal with at some point in their lives.
This is due to the fact that many different elements, including the patient’s environment, cognitive abilities, biological makeup, and emotional state all have a role in the onset and maintenance of this disorder.
Pain, whether it’s temporary (acute pain) or persistent (chronic pain), can occur anywhere in the body, from the back to the joints to the stomach to the head to the waist (chronic pain).
In this article on EKO HOT BLOG, we will be looking at some foods you should eat to prevent and treat body pain.
1. Ginger
Several studies have established a connection between inflammation and suffering. Pain-inducing inflammation can be mitigated and prevented using ginger’s 6-gingerol.
2. Salmon
Salmon is a good source of omega-3 fatty acids, strong antioxidants that may help reduce inflammation. They include a hormone called calcitonin, which has been shown to alleviate osteoarthritis pain and inflammation.
3. Pumpkin Seeds and Nuts
Pumpkin seeds are loaded with antioxidants and anti-inflammatory omega-3 fatty acids.
4. Spicy peppers
Capsaicin, a chemical found in chilli peppers, has anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving qualities. What’s more, it has the potential to release endorphins, which are molecules that prevent the brain from registering pain.
5. Red grape
Experiments have indicated that the chemical molecule resveratrol, which is found in red grapes, can help in the treatment of pain. The anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects of turmeric are well-documented.
6. Turmeric
Since curcumin, the major ingredient in turmeric, can reduce inflammation, it holds potential as a treatment for chronic pain.
7. Olive Oil
As an anti-inflammatory, ibuprofen is often included in multi-ingredient treatments. The anti-inflammatory effects of olive oil are thought to originate from an ibuprofen-like molecule.
