EKO HOT BLOG reports that a federal grand jury in Atlanta indicted Mark Schultz, 66, of Chula Vista, California, threatening Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis, announced the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Georgia on Friday.
Schultz, who made his first court appearance in California, faces charges of repeatedly posting threatening comments on YouTube livestreams in October, including threats of violence such as “will be killed like a dog.”
The indictment outlined additional threats, including racially charged remarks.
Willis, overseeing a significant case against former President Donald Trump, has been subjected to racist threats since initiating the investigation.
Keri Farley, the special agent in charge of the FBI’s Atlanta field office, emphasized the seriousness of violence against government officials.
Willis, in response, highlighted the recent indictment in contrast to GOP state Sen. Bill Cowsert’s questioning of her need for protection.
She expressed gratitude to law enforcement for their efforts to ensure her safety.
Willis has faced scrutiny due to her relationship with Nathan Wade, a special prosecutor involved in the Trump case.
Despite challenges, a court ruled Willis could continue prosecuting, though she and Wade were barred from collaborating on the case. Wade subsequently resigned.
