The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced the start of Permanent Voter Card (PVC) distribution ahead of the February 21 Area Council elections in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Eko Hot Blog gathered that in a statement shared on its official X page on Tuesday, the commission called on eligible voters in the FCT to seize the opportunity and collect their PVCs in preparation for the polls.

INEC explained that the collection exercise will take place at voters’ respective Registration Areas (wards) from January 22 to January 26, running daily between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.
The electoral body added that voters who are unable to collect their PVCs within the stated period at their wards will still have the chance to do so afterwards at the INEC Area Council offices across the FCT.

“Dear FCT residents, as we gear up for the February 21 Area Council election, INEC is bringing PVC collection closer to you. Do not miss the opportunity to collect your Permanent Voter Card,” the commission stated.
INEC further advised residents to use the online PVC locator on its website to confirm their collection points and encouraged them to participate actively in the exercise.
The February 21 election, scheduled to commence at 8:30 a.m., will feature candidates from 17 political parties contesting for positions across the 62 wards in the Federal Capital Territory.
