INEC Expresses Sadness Over Ogun REC’s Death
The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has expressed sadness over the death of its Resident Electoral Commissioner, REC, for Ogun state, Mr Olaniyi Ijalaye.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that Ijalaye died on Monday after attending the regular quarterly meeting of the commission in Abuja.
In a statement issued by the National Commissioner and Chairman of the Information and Voter Education Committee, Mr Sam Olumekun in Abuja on Tuesday, the commission expressed its deepest condolences to the immediate family of the late Ijalaye.
He prayed that God would grant the deceased eternal rest.
Ijalaye, who hailed from Owo, Ondo State, was born in 1958.
He graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) from the University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University) in 1982 and was called to the Nigerian Bar (BL) in 1983.

He also obtained a Master’s degree in Law (LLM) from the same university in 1995.
Until his demise, Ijalaye, who assumed duty on Feb. 23, 2022, worked with integrity, diligence, and conscientiousness.
