EKO HOT BLOG reports that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has officially released the comprehensive list of candidates set to participate in the forthcoming governorship election in Kogi State, scheduled for November 11.
The publication of the candidates’ personal particulars follows INEC’s earlier announcement of its intention to make such information available to the public.
Festus Okoye, the National Commissioner and Chairman of the Information and Voter Education Committee of INEC, had previously informed journalists that the personal details of candidates contesting in the governorship elections in Imo, Bayelsa, and Kogi states would be published.
This publication is aimed at promoting transparency and ensuring that voters are well-informed ahead of the crucial electoral process.
The list released by INEC for the Kogi State gubernatorial election includes various candidates representing different political parties. Olayinka Braimoh emerged as the candidate for the Action Alliance, with Mr Simon Ogwu as his running mate.
Similarly, Hon. Leke Abejide was named the candidate for the African Democratic Congress (ADC), with Dauda Ismaila Onuoroiza as his running mate.
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) selected Sen. Dino Melaye as its candidate, while Habibat Mohammed Deen will be his running mate. Mubarak Musa was chosen as the candidate for the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP), with Tenimu Idris as his running mate.
Okeme Adejoh secured the ticket for the Labour Party, with Ocheja Edogbo Sunday as his running mate. Alhaji Usman Ahmed Ododo and Suleman A. Abdullahi will represent the All Progressives Congress (APC) as their gubernatorial candidate and running mate, respectively.
Furthermore, the Social Democratic Party (SDP) announced Sheik Ibrahim Jibrin as its candidate, with Ajodo Damian Monday serving as his running mate.
