INEC Urges Political Parties To Show Interest Electoral Process

The Independent National Electoral Commission ( INEC) has urged political parties and other stakeholders in the forthcoming gubernatorial poll in Kogi State to show interest in electoral process.

The commission advised political parties and other stakeholders to partake in the electoral activities at the polling units as well as at the collection centers.

The state Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Prof. James Apam, disclosed this to newsmen in Lokoja on Saturday.

Apam stressed the importance of stakeholders’ participation in electoral activities at the polling units and collection centers to achieving a credible election. Adding that, the commission was committed to conducting a free and fair elections.

He however, urged the political parties and other stakeholders to shun violence in the November 16 gubernatorial poll. Adding that, INEC has concluded plans to conduct a peaceful election.
