The fresh twist in the story is the current police report that was issued concerning the death of the young lady, Iniobong Umoren.
Recall earlier reports had suggested that the LGA chairman of the location where the suspect was found, Surv Ekpenyiong had after hearing the suspect’s confession, invited the DPO of the LGA and handed him over to the police.
But the recent statement from the police has debunked that information.
Rather the police have indicted the chairman of the LGA stating that the suspect had in fact, reported to the chairman and after doing that, he had run away to Calabar.
This has raised so much dust in the state with people asking why the LGA chairman did not act immediately he heard the chilling brutal confessions.
Others have also, questioned why the LGA chairman had allowed the boy to run away after the confession.
From the police report as posted by the Governor’s special assistant on media, Aniekeme Finbarr, the Command first received the signal on the disappearance of the victim on the 30th of April 2021.
