- Gareth Bale’s agent has blamed Zinedine Zidane for the welshman’s football decline
- The agent also revealed the player’s priority and his relationship with Mourinho
Ekohotblog reports that Gareth Bale’s agent, Jonathan Barnett, has blamed his client’s former coach, Zinedine Zidane for his decline in recent years.
Gareth Bale had a fractured relationship with his former manager which led him to return to North London club, Tottenham on a season long loan last year.

“The injuries and misunderstanding of recent seasons with Zidane have slowed him down,” Barnett said.
“It’s a shame that’s he’s injured right now, with Carlo Ancelotti again as the coach of Real Madrid. He tore his hamstring, so he has a long way to go.”
The 71-year old agent also revealed that despite recording a tally of 11 goals in 20 appearances during his return to Tottenham, Bale also didn’t quite enjoy working under Jose Mourinho as they didn’t agree on footballing terms.
“At Spurs, there wasn’t a fall out,” Barnett said
“I just think they didn’t see football the same way – I’m being very diplomatic here.
The agent also confirmed an interesting revelation about Bale’s priority being his national team and not his club, Real Madrid.
“It’s a dream for him to play in the World Cup finals with Wales,” added Barnett.
“That’s the most important thing for him, I believe.”, Barnett disclosed.
