Insecurity: Community Leader Urges Nigerians To Be More Security Conscious

Chief Adams Makka-Nangba, District Head of Wakama in Nasarawa Egon Local Aovernment Area, has tasked residents in the state to be more security conscious and report to appropriate authorities suspicious movement of persons or groups.

Makka-Nangba made the call on Tuesday during a town hall meeting in Wakama, Akun Development Area of the state.

He also urged the stakeholders of the area and other Nigerians to remain united and embrace peace irrespective of their affiliations for development to thrive.

The district head noted that no community and society could achieve meaningful progress without unity and peaceful co-existence among its members and their neighbours, hence the need for the people of the community to embrace peace.

“We must unite and tolerate one another for us to take our community, Wakama to great heights and contribute positively to the development of the state and Nigeria at large.

“The importance of unity and peace to societal development cannot be over emphasised.

“As peace is priceless and non negotiable, it is the necessary requirement for the development of any society.

“It is in view of this that I want to urge all of us and other Nigerians to continue to remain united, embrace and tolerate one another for development to thrive,” he said.

Makka-Nangba also called on stakeholders in the area to continue to contribute positively to the development of the area, the state and the country at large.

He enjoined the people to support government policies and programmes, to enjoy more dividends of democracy.

The district head further enjoined his subjects and other Nigerians to be their brother’s keepers, law abiding and respect constituted authorities in the interest of development.

Earlier, Mr Usman Andrew, the Chairman, Eggon Cultural and Development Association (ECDA), Wakama Chapter, said that the meeting was aimed at discussing the way forward on how to bring development to the area.

Andrew appreciated the members of the community for their continued support and contribution to the development of the area and urged them to sustain the tempo.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that participants at the meeting used face masks and observed social distancing in compliance with COVID-19 protocols.
