Insecurity: Sanwo-Olu Recruits 1,250 Special Constabulary Police Officers

The Nigerian police, on Tuesday, deployed 1,250 special police officers, to reinforce the community police in the state of Lagos.

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu called on officials to comply with the guidelines.

Represented by his Chief of Staff, Tayo Ayinde, Sanwo-Olu said the constabulary police have been hired to enhance existing security architecture.

He stated that their main duty was to obtain reliable and timely information on community-based activities, EKO HOT BLOG   gathered.

Sanwo-Olu gave assurances that the well-being of officers would receive priority attention.

The Governor made a plea to all residents, to community leaders and associations to cooperate with the security personnel.

The Commandant of Police College, Ikeja, AIG Olasupo Ajani, called upon graduate officers to carry out their duties with diligence and professionalism.

“We advise against wearing a new police uniform except for the black uniform that was handed out. Avoid wearing the blue or camouflage uniform of conventional police officers.’’ he warned
