Insecurity: The Nigerian Army Needs More Time – Buhari

Muhammadu Buhari urged Nigerians to give more time to the army and other security agencies to end security the crisis in some regions of the country.

Buhari made these comments in a Christmas message to Nigerians, portraying the day as a symbol of peace, love and optimism, to stop the ransom kidnappings, the Boko Haram crisis, the economic collapse and a resurgence in the second coronavirus outbreak, EKO HOT BLOG  gathered.

The Nigerian president is facing increasing pressure to dismiss the country’s security forces at a time when the security situation is worsening.

Approximately two weeks ago, armed men stormed Kankara High School in Katsina State, kidnapping over 300 students.

However, within six days of their abduction, the students were released by armed men following a clash between Nigerian security forces and their allies in the bush, including negotiations, the Nigerian authorities said. Ransom abductions are common in Nigeria, particularly in the northwestern part of the country.
