Instagram has deactivated Hushpuppi’s verified account.
EKO HOT BLOG reports that the American social networking service, Instagram has deactivated the verified account of the embattled internet fraudster, Abbas Ramon, popularly known as Hushpuppi.
Hushpuppi is currently in prison, facing trials in the United States following his arrest in 2020 over fraud-related activities.
The Nigerian was nabbed in Dubai by a joint team of Police and the United States Federal Bureau of Investigation for defrauding unsuspecting public members, including American citizens.
Hushpuppi was then extradited and charged with multiple counts of hacking, impersonation, scamming, banking fraud, and identity theft.
However, a little check by this online medium on Sunday showed that Hushpuppi’s Instagram account [@hushpuppi], which has about 2.8 million followers, 827 followers, and 540 posts showcasing his extravagant lifestyle, has been deactivated.
Despite, being in detention, Instagram had permitted Hushpuppi to share videos and photos on the platform once he does not represent dangerous organisations or individuals.
However, after two years, the social media platform seems to have reviewed its decision and deactivated the account.
