Insurgency: Senate Calls For Removal Of Service Chiefs

The Senate, during Tuesday’s plenary, recommended that the Service Chiefs be sacked and replaced with people with fresh ideas and solutions to the country’s security problems.

Eko Hot Blog learnt that the lawmakers also urged President Buhari to restructure and remodel the entire security structure and investigate allegations of widespread corruption and leakages within the security hierarchy.

The lawmakers stated this during a debate on security in the nation and the attack on rice farmers in Borno State which has left at least 40 people dead.

The Senate also recommended the recruitment of 10,000 civilian JTF to complement the efforts of the military and explore a multilateral partnership with Niger, Chad, and Cameroon.
