Inter Milan have tabled a €30 million bid to Chelsea Football Club in their pursuit of forward Romelu Lukaku.
The Belgian striker, who spent the previous season on loan at Inter Milan, has expressed his desire to continue with the Italian club, prompting negotiations between the two sides.
The improved bid comes after Inter Milan’s initial offer was turned down by Chelsea.
Eager to secure Lukaku’s services, Inter Milan are keen on swiftly finalising the deal to prevent the loss of a key player.
The striker proved instrumental in Inter Milan’s domestic double triumph last season, netting 10 goals in 25 appearances for the Nerazzurri.
Chelsea, having been informed of Lukaku’s intention to join the Italian giants, are reportedly open to allowing the player to depart for a reasonable transfer fee.
Discussions between the two clubs are said to be progressing positively, as Inter Milan aim to continue the successful partnership between Lukaku and their key talisman, Lautaro Martinez, in the upcoming season.
