Interior Minister Tunji-Ojo Reacts To Akeredolu’s Return
Eko Hot Blog reports that the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, has reacted to the return of the Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, after three months of medical leave abroad.
“The return of the governor is not just a testament of his strength, resilience, and will, which the majority admire him for, but also a proof of God’s faithfulness,” Tunji-Ojo said in a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Alao Babatunde.
He added that the people of Ondo State, who have eagerly awaited the return of their beloved governor, are filled with joy and gratitude to have him back.
“Your unwavering commitment to the well-being and progress of Ondo State has been an inspiration to us all, and we are pleased to see you back in good health,” the minister said.
He also prayed for more success for the governor as he officially resumed duty.
Tunji-Ojo’s statement was in response to Akeredolu’s return to Nigeria on Thursday after receiving medical attention in Germany. The governor had traveled to Germany on June 9, 2023.
Akeredolu has since resumed his duties as governor of Ondo State. He held a stakeholder meeting with political leaders and members of his Executive Council at his Ibadan, Oyo state residence on Friday.
The minister’s statement was met with positive reactions from the people of Ondo State. Many people took to social media to express their gratitude to the minister for his kind words.
“Thank you, Minister Tunji-Ojo, for your warm welcome,” one Twitter user wrote. “We are so happy to have our governor back.”
Another user wrote, “Your words are a source of inspiration to us all. We are grateful for your support.”
Akeredolu’s return is a welcome development for the people of Ondo State.
