IPAC Wants No Delay In Conduct Of Lagos LG Polls

With incumbent elected officials’ terms expiring in July, the Lagos State Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) has advised Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu to put the wheels in motion for local government elections, Eko hot blog gathered.
Mr James Adeshina, the state IPAC Chairman, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos on Tuesday that holding elections on time would help to deepen democracy.

Adeshina was referring to reports that the state would not hold council elections in 2021 because such an exercise was not included in the state’s 2021 budget.
“We are aware that the term of these outgoing chairmen of local governments is going to expire by July,” Adeshina, who is also the Lagos State Chairman of African Action Congress (AAC), said.
