Iponri Estate Residents Hold Special Prayers In Honour Of Late Jakande

The Iponri Housing Estate Residential Association (IHERA) on Friday held a prayer session in honour of Late Alhaji Lateef Jakande, the first civilian governor of Lagos State.
Mr Omotayo Ogunlade, the Chairman IHERA, said during the prayers that the former governor was a visionary man.
According to him, the ex-governor saw the future and created a well defined housing platform which was beneficial to majority of people within the state.

“He was a visionary man who saw the future and acted appropriately to the benefit of the masses.
“Jakande was a grassroots governor who made the housing estate affordable for the low income earners during his tenure,” he said.
Ogunlade urged the present politicians and public office holders to emulate the first civilian governor in providing infrastructure development for the masses.
Mr Kolawole Osho, former IHERA Chairman, said while giving his remarks that late Jakande did well for low income earners during his tenure as the state governor.
“That’s why we organised this type of prayer for him because he has done so well for the masses by providing homes for the low income earners during his time,”
Osho advised the present politicians to fulfil their campaign promises to the people so as to lay remarkable landmarks after their administrations.
“Some politicians nowadays make lots of promises during campaigns but by the time they get into the office most of them forget their promises.
“May God grant Jakande ‘Aljanah Fridau’,” he said.
