Some members of the Shi’ites Movement, and youths on Monday, protested the killing of Iranian General Qassem Soleimani by the United States of America.
The protesters took to the streets of Bannex, Wuse area of Abuja to burn the American flag and chant “Death to America.”
They took the opportunity to demand tbe release of El-Zakzaky and his wife, Zeenat.
Another protest occured in Abuja-Keffi highway.
The Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs called on the youths to “not to allow their emotions becloud them to the dangers of taking to the streets.”
Speaking through its Head of Media and Communication, the NSCIA said, “We appeal to these Muslim youths not to allow their emotions becloud them to the dangers of taking to the streets.
“We appeal to the law enforcement agency to be alive to their responsibility of protecting lives and property.”
