A 55-year-old conservative female lawmaker from Tehran, Iran, Fatemeh Rahbar has died as a result of the novel coronavirus.
Rahbar who won the most seats in the parliament during the last general elections reportedly died on Friday after a coma.
This is a true indication that the disease is spreading so fast across the country making them the third most affected with 5,823 cases and 145 deaths reported on Saturday.

Rahbar is the second lawmaker killed by the virus in Iran as seven other politicians died when the disease emerged.
Ekohotblog on March 1 reported that a newly elected member of parliament, Mohammed Ali Razamani Dastak died from the flu-like virus after being hospitalized.
The deputy health minister, Iraj Harirchi, and another member of parliament, Mahmoud Sadeghi, said they have also contracted the virus.
Learning institutions, cultural and sporting events have all been suspended for the fear of Covid-19.
Working hours across the country have also been minimised to reduce the contagion, which has spread to all of its 31 provinces.
