EKO HOT BLOG reports that Kayode Ojuolape Oladotun, popularly known as Do2dtun, a Nigerian on-air personality, has criticized Lagos lawmaker, Desmond Elliot, over his recent donation of transformers to his constituency just days before the election.
Desmond, who is running for a third term as a Lagos lawmaker, donated eight high-capacity transformers to his constituency of Surulere. Announcing the commissioning of the transformers on social media, Desmond said that they would bring reliable electricity to communities that have long needed it.

However, Do2dtun took to Twitter to express his disapproval, stating that the lawmaker’s gesture was only aimed at buying votes from the constituency. He accused Desmond of not caring about his constituents and claimed that he could not even buy a power bank for them in the past.
“Desmond, who couldn’t buy a power bank for his constituency, suddenly buys eight transformers at once a few days before the election. Isn’t it obvious that these guys don’t care? Desmond Import and export,” Do2dtun wrote on Twitter.
The criticism comes amidst a tense political climate in Nigeria ahead of the 2023 general elections, with politicians jostling for positions and making various promises to constituents to secure their votes.
Desmond, a Nollywood actor turned politician, has been the Lagos lawmaker representing the Surulere I constituency since 2015.
He has been involved in various philanthropic activities in his constituency over the years, including the construction of boreholes and the donation of medical equipment to hospitals.
