“Is This An Endorsement?” Buhari’s Aide Reacts To Aisha Yesufu’s Comment On Homosexuality
Bashir Ahmad, Special Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on Social Media, has reacted to a tweet on homosexuality by outspoken human rights campaigner, Aisha Yesufu, asking her to state specifically if she was endorsing the prohibited act.
Aisha Yesufu had on Monday tweeted: “You do not need anyone liking your of sexuality. All you need to is being given the right to practise your sexuality. Homosexuality was freely practised in Nigeria for hundreds of years and I witnessed same sex marriages in the 80s.
In his response, Ahmad tweeted: “Is this an endorsement, @AishaYesufu?”

However, in what seemed like an indirect response to the President aide’s question, she wrote: “They know me! They will see me on the streets and know who I am. I will see them and not know who they are. That’s enough punishment for the Buharists on my TL.”
Aisha Yesufu is popular for her criticism of the Buhari-led administration. A picture of her leading protesters went viral during the #EndSARS demonstrations in October 2020.
