Ise-Igbogun Road: Contractors Return To Site After Wale Raji’s Intervention
Eko Hot Blog reports that that contractors handling the construction of Ise-Igbogun road in Epe Federal Constituency, Lagos State, have returned to site.
The Office of Wale Raji, the Member of House of Representatives for Epe Federal Constituency, made the disclosure on Wednesday.
The contractors had vacated construction site, leaving the road unfinished until Raji’s intervention.
“Once he makes a promise, he puts in his best to see it through silently till it is delivered,” the lawmaker’s office said.
The Ise-Igbogun road, which had been in a deplorable state, is a strategic and economically important road that links so many rural and farming communities in Lagos state to Ogun state and other parts of the country.
The latest development comes nearly two years after Raji promised that the road would be fixed.
In in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in November 2021, he said he had facilitated the reconstruction of the Ode-Omi, Igbogun, Ise deplorable roads.
“The contract has been awarded, We are waiting for the contractor to move to the site and commence work,” the lawmaker said at the time.
“This and many more are the community projects we have facilitated and we are committed to do more.”
