Earlier, a flier circulated online, inviting guests to the inauguration ceremony of the Sharia court, scheduled for January 11, 2025, at the Muslim Community Islamic Center in Oyo.
The flier listed notable figures, including Bashorun of Oyo land, High Chief Yusuf Akinade Olayinka I, as the Royal father of the day, Mufairu of Oyo land, Alhaji Abdullateef Eleyele, as the Spiritual father of the day, and Aare Musulumi of Oyo land, Alhaji Tajudeen Kamorise, as the chief host.
However, the announcement was met with criticism from some netizens, who questioned the appropriateness of such a ceremony in the South West, a region predominantly populated by Yoruba people, where Islam is less dominant compared to the northern part of Nigeria.
