EKO HOT BLOG reports that the Polytechnic, Lagos State Polytechnic, now Lagos State University of Science and Technology, will play host to the 31st International Inter-Tertiary Multi-disciplinary Conference on Science, Technology, Education, Arts, Management and the Social Science (iSTEAM).
The conference slated for April 11th-13th 2022, was approved following a visit by Professor Olumide Longe, a Professor at the Academie City University College, Accra, Ghana to the Rector, Lagos State Polytechnic, Dr Oluremi Nurudeen Olaleye on February 16, 2022.

This was made known in a statement signed by Lanre K. Kuye, Director, Information and Public Relations, which was made available to EKO HOT BLOG.
Professor Longe, who observed that the Lagos State Polytechnic has the most convenient learning environment befitting for a meeting of academics to ruminate and discuss advancement issues, considered to host the 2022 international conference in the institution.
In his words, “The serenity of Lagos State Polytechnic campus is best for academic activities, making it the most suitable for the proposedApriliSTEAM conference.”
The iSTEAM conference, which bothers on Science, Technology, Education, Art, Management and Social Sciences (STEAM), would be held on the lush expanse of Laspotech facility in April 2022 and is now a collaborative effort of the Lagos State Polytechnic and the Advanced Research Techniques, (SMART) Africa.
The distinguished Professor of the Academic City University College, Accra, Ghana who led the delegation to Laspotech, stated that the collaboration with Laspotech is perfect and timely due to the fact that the Polytechnic has just successfully transmuted into a University of Science and Technology, as this transition plays a significant role in the advancement of societal growth, especially in Nigeria and Africa at large.
Professor Olumide in his speech noted that this conference would put the University, LASUSTECH on the academic almanac as a foremost university of science and technology in Africa.
He also made mentioned that the Rector of Lagos State Polytechnic will be awarded the Fellowship Award of iSTEAM at the conference which will hold on April 11th-13th 2022.
The Rector of Lagos State Polytechnic, Dr Oluremi Nurudeen Olaleye appreciated the iSTEAM committee for choosing his institution for hosting such an important conference and promised to give full support to this development.
Principal officers of the Lagos State Polytechnic, who were present at the meeting were the Dean of School of Management and Business Studies, Mr Dare Fasheiku; the Director of Human Capacity and Development, Dr IbraheemAkosile; Dr Abiola Lawal of Banking and Finance Department; Mrs Akinkugbe of the General Studies Department and Mrs DamisolaAdewunmi of the Office Technology and Management Department.
The Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on February 2, signed the bills for the establishment of additional two universities in the state into law.
The bills assented to by the governor converted the Lagos State Polytechnic (LASPOTECH) to the Lagos State University of Science and Technology while it merged the Adeniran Ogunsanya College of Education (AOCOD), Ijanikin and the Michael Otedola College of Primary Education (MOCOPED), Epe to become Lagos State University of Education (LASUED).
