ISWAP Fighters Kill Shekau’s Commanders
- Fighters of the Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) have reportedly killed some commanders of the leader of the Boko Haram sect, Abubakar Shekau.
- It was further learnt that series of meetings have been held in Sambisa Forest between ISWAP commanders and other surrendered Boko Haram members.
Fighters of the Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) have reportedly killed some commanders of the leader of the Boko Haram sect, Abubakar Shekau.
Shekau, who is the leader of the Jama’tu Ahlis Sunna Lidda’awati wal-Jihad (JAS) faction, was earlier killed by the ISWAP fighters last week in Sambisa Forest.
It was reported that Shekau blew himself after the ISWAP fighters attempted to capture him.
However, the ISIS affiliate has reportedly killed and arrested some Boko Haram commanders and members.

It was gathered that the sect captured Shekau’s commanders who refused to surrender to ISWAP.
The faction said to have been arrested include Mustapha Krimima Jaysh, Ba’akaka, Malkin Tijjani, Hirasama, and Mallam Ballu.
According to PRNigeria, gun trucks of terrorists were sighted at Marte, East of Tumour, Tumbumma, and Tumbuktu Triangle in Sambisa following a supremacy battle between ISWAP and Boko Haram.
It was further learnt that series of meetings have been held in Sambisa Forest between ISWAP commanders and other surrendered senior members of the Boko Haram sect.
