EKO HOT BLOG reports that Cody Gakpo, a recent signing of Liverpool Football Club, is confident about his ability to adapt to the team and making a positive impact despite the slow season at the club.
Gakpo, who joined the club from another team, acknowledges the challenge of adapting to a new team and new playing style, but sees it as an opportunity to grow and improve.
In an interview, Gakpo mentioned that he might need to make different movements on the pitch to what his new teammates are used to, but he believes that it’s just a matter of learning about each other and getting better.
Despite the current struggles of the team, Gakpo remains optimistic and is determined to make the most of his opportunity.
Gakpo also revealed that he spoke to former Manchester United striker, Ruud van Nistelrooy, in the summer when a transfer to the club looked like a possibility.
“I spoke to van Nistelrooy a lot about Manchester United in the summer when the transfer looked like it may be coming. But in the winter, not really”
However, he didn’t have much communication with him in the winter when he joined Liverpool.
Nevertheless, van Nistelrooy was supportive of Gakpo’s move to a big club, and the young player is grateful for his advice.
“It was Ruud’s wish that I went to a big club – and I think I have achieved that with Liverpool,” Gakpo said.
Overall, Gakpo is focused on performing and figuring things out as quickly as possible. He believes that getting on the ball, turning, and running at opponents is where he is most dangerous, and he is eager to bring that aspect of his game to Liverpool.
With his positive attitude and determination to succeed, Gakpo is poised to make a strong contribution to the team in the future.
“When I got the opportunity to come to a massive club like this, I don’t wait for five years more! I see it more as a challenge. It’s my first transfer and of course I have to adapt.”
