Ghanaian reggae and dancehall star, Stonebwoy, has expressed his opinion that he does not have a competitor when it comes to dancehall music not just in Ghana but the whole of the African continent.
According to Stonebwoy, who made the statement during a stage performance over the weekend, he is miles ahead of other artistes in the genre on account of his achievements.
While bragging to be the only dancehall artiste in Africa to win both the BET and the Nickelodeon awards, he said:
“I don’t see any competition, take it or leave it. [I’m] the only reggae/dancehall artiste to win BET for Ghana [and in] the whole of Africa. And I want you to be proud about it because I’m Ghanaian.”
Speaking in front of a cheering crowd, the singer added: “I’m the only dancehall artiste to win the Nickelodeon Award. I’m proud about it.”
While his statement, especially the part about the award cannot be faulted, Stonebwoy’s proclamation is likely to draw a reaction from rival, Shatta Wale’s camp who is believed to be the target of the opinion.
The rivalry between the pair dates back to some years and has seen both musicians laying claim to the title -Dancehall king.
