A traffic accident which took place earlier today in the Elewi Odo area along the Iwo Road-Ojoo Expressway in Ibadan has left many in dismay.
The incident involved a commercial bus loaded with bags of pepper that collided with a lorry.
Eyewitnesses who spoke to AGIDIGBO FM NEWS reported that the accident was caused by the lorry driver driving against traffic on a one-way section of the road. This reckless manoeuvre led to the unfortunate crash.
This incident follows a recent accident near the Agbowo area on the same Iwo Road-Ojoo Expressway, highlighting ongoing safety concerns along this busy route.
Ajibade David Olusesan who made a comment on Facebook, noted the reoccurrence of accidents on the Iwo Road-Ojoo Expressway, describing the areas as a “death trap”

“That Iwo road – Ojoo has now become death trap, may God always protect us. Our government has refused to complete the road for us,” he noted.
Recall that the Federal Road Safety Corps had confirmed the death of 16 persons in an accident involving multiple vehicles at the Ojoo-Iwo Road axis of the Lagos-Ibadan expressway on Tuesday, August 13.
The spokesperson, FRSC, Oyo State Sector Command, Mayowa Odewo, told the News Agency of Nigeria in Ibadan that 17 other people sustained varying degrees of injuries in the accident.
He said two people were injury-free of the 35 people, made up of 14 male adults, 10 female adults, six female children, and five male children involved in the accident.
No report has been made about this from any of the government agencies as at the time of filing this report.
