EKO HOT BLOG reports that according to a bulletin released on Monday, public universities must finalize admissions by October 31, 2025, while private universities are expected to complete theirs by November 30, 2025. Other institutions, both public and private, have until December 31, 2025 to wrap up their admissions.
JAMB explained that the directive was issued in line with resolutions from the 2025 Policy Meeting chaired by the Minister of Education. The board emphasized that the move is aimed at stabilising the academic calendar and ensuring fair access to admission opportunities nationwide.
“Even where an institution is not yet ready to commence a new academic session, such an institution should conduct its admission and archive it,” the statement read.
The board also reminded institutions conducting post-UTME screenings to complete the exercises promptly to meet the stipulated timelines.
“By this policy directive, all admission processes must be concluded within the prescribed deadlines,” JAMB stated, adding that adherence to the schedule will prevent disruptions in academic activities and improve efficiency in the education system.

The decision comes as part of ongoing efforts by JAMB to streamline admissions and eliminate irregularities across Nigerian tertiary institutions.
