Real Madrid midfielder, James Rodriguez, is all set to leave Bayern Munich after the club decided against signing him permanently from Real Madrid.
According to Kicker magazine, the 27-year-old Colombian midfielder, who joined Bayern on loan in 2017, is deemed not to have done enough by the German club to warrant signing him permanently for 42 million euros ($46.9m) as agreed in the two-year deal which expires on June 30.
“The Bayern bosses have agreed internally not to sign James,” wrote the magazine on Monday about the player who scored 14 goals in 43 Bundesliga games for Bayern but has had a difficult relationship with coach Niko Kovac this season.
With fierce competition from Thomas Mueller, Leon Goretzka and Thiago Alcantara, the Colombian also struggled to hold down a first-team place at Bayern. With a return to Real Madrid unlikely, Rodriguez is reportedly seeking a reunion with Carlo Ancelotti at Napoli.
