EKO HOT BLOG reports that a presidential candidate in the 2019 Nigerian general elections, Omoyele Sowore, has expressed his satisfaction with the bail granted to popular aphrodisiac seller, Hauwa Muhammed, popularly known as Jaruma.
Jaruma was on Friday arraigned before an Upper Area Court in the Zuba area of Abuja on Monday for alleged defamation of character, false news publication and intimidation of business tycoon, Ned Nwoko, on social media.

Nwoko had accused Jaruma of publishing falsehoods on her Instagram page against him and his wife, Regina Daniels, who is an actress.
The judge, Ismaila Abdullahi, had on Monday ruled that she should be remanded in the Suleja Correctional Centre pending the bail hearing today, Friday. She was eventually granted bail.
Reacting to the ruling via his verified Facebook page, Sowore insisted that Jaruma shouldn’t have been arrested in the first place. He criticised the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) “for turning itself into a mercenary that enforces the will of criminal and repressive VIPs.”
“Glad that Jaruma has been granted bail. There was no reason for her arrest and detention by so-called Billionairë Ned Nwoko.
“I blame the Nigeria Police Force for turning itself into a mercenary that enforces the will of criminal and repressive VIPs. Reason has prevailed and I am demanding that charges are dropped against Jaruma and she too should pursue legal remedies against Mr. Nwoko and co for her unjust and unlawful persecution,” he wrote.
Jaruma’s case has been adjourned till February 23.
