Jigawa State Governor, Umar Namadi, revealed on Sunday that his son, Abdulwahab, and mother, Hajiya Maryam, passed away within a week of his daughter’s wedding.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that Abdulwahab died in a road crash just a day after his mother succumbed to an illness.

On Sunday, Gombe State Governor and Chairman of the Northern States Governors’ Forum, Muhammadu Yahaya, visited Kafin Hausa in Jigawa to offer condolences to Namadi. Yahaya had attended the wedding of Namadi’s daughter, Fatiha, a week prior to the tragic events.

In his remarks, Governor Namadi thanked Yahaya for his support during both joyous and difficult times. “Your Excellency, just a week ago, you were in Jigawa to attend my daughter’s wedding, and now you are here to sympathize with us over the tragic loss of our mother and son. This reflects your deep care for us and your exceptional leadership,” Namadi said.

Governor Yahaya, offering his condolences, encouraged Namadi to find solace in God’s will. “What Allah takes belongs to Him, and what He gives is also His.

He urged Namadi to remain steadfast in faith, adding, “On behalf of the Northern States Governors’ Forum and the Government of Gombe State, we extend our heartfelt condolences to you and the people of Jigawa. May Allah forgive their souls and grant them Aljannat Firdaus.”
