Jose Mourinho’s assessment highlights Portugal, France, and England as the top contenders for Euro 2024, discounting the host nation, Germany.
Mourinho, renowned for his coaching stints at Porto and later at illustrious clubs such as Chelsea, Inter Milan, Real Madrid, and Manchester United, is confident that one of the mentioned powerhouse teams will emerge victorious in the tournament.
However, he pointed out that an unexpected nation could win, in a tournament where formidable teams such as Belgium, Spain, the Netherlands, and Italy are also in contention.
“For me, it’s one of the three strongest teams – Portugal, France and England”.
UEFA Euro 2024
Jose Mourinho told Vila do Conde on Wednesday, May 1, when asked to predict the forthcoming European Championship.
“Surprises can happen, yes. But looking at the quality and quantity of players, I think Portugal has to go there to win.”
Note that the European Championship (Euro 2024) will commence at the Allianz Arena in Munich on June 14, 2024 and end on July 14, 2024.
Italy currently holds the title as the reigning champions, having triumphed in the 2021 tournament by defeating England on penalties at Wembley Stadium.

Given their star-studded lineup, England is considered one of the favorites to win the tournament.
However, they face tough competition from France, who finished second in the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
