A journalist, Akinleye Segun, has emerged the Community Development Association Chairman (CDA) of Alafia-Tayo Orile Iju Community in Ifako-Ijaiye Local Government Area of Lagos State.
Akinleye defeated the former Environmental Chairman, Pa Musiliu (SKT), with 20 votes to 2 votes to emerge as the chairman.
Speaking shortly after he was announced the winner, Akinleye said that it is time to chart a new course for the community while calling for all hands to be on deck.

“My emergence as the CDA Chairman means that the people are ready for a new direction. We have tried the old ways of doing things and they have served us to the best of their ability. Now is the time to chart a new course.
“The priority, for now, is to get the support of everybody so that we can move the community forward. All hands must be on deck to reposition our community, ” he said.
Jimoh Kolade emerged as the Vice-Chairman while Michael Akapo was elected the Secretary.
