EKO HOT BLOG reports that tension flared at a secondary school in Port Harcourt’s Agip area when the family of a J.S.S.1 student, named Favour, reportedly confronted teacher Sonia Amadi, accusing her of inappropriately disciplining their child.
The family allegedly locked Admin Officer Joy Ajayi in her office and threatened her. Other parents intervened to prevent further violence.
Joy Ajayi recounted the ordeal, stating that three boys barged into her office, brandishing scissors and threatening her with violence.
The altercation escalated as the family insisted on taking drastic measures, including involving the police or a lawyer.
Teachers outside attempted to intervene, but the situation remained tense until the father of the boys arrived and defused the confrontation temporarily.
Before targeting Joy Ajayi, the group had allegedly physically assaulted English teacher Sonia Amadi on her way to school, prompting school management to file a formal complaint with the police.
The Ada George Police Division issued a medical form for Sonia Amadi’s treatment following the incident.
The State Police Command spokesperson, Grace Iringe-Koko, confirmed awareness of the situation but had not received an official report at the time of inquiry.
