EKO HOT BLOG reports that Liverpool’s manager, Jurgen Klopp, was left stunned during a press conference before his team’s Champions League round of 16 first-leg tie against Real Madrid on Tuesday night.
A journalist’s question about the Real Madrid star, Vinicius Junior, caused the Liverpool boss to react in disbelief. The reporter asked if Vinicius brings abuse on himself due to an aspect of his game that is sometimes provocative, and that creates a reaction.

Klopp responded strongly:
“That he is doing something on the pitch that could cause it? There is nothing in the world that could justify that. Imagine if I say yes, that would be completely insane.”
He went on to praise Vinicius and labelled him as a world-class player, saying, “He was that night [Champions League final] – with a really young age – didn’t get fazed by the way the game went, how they were not always dominant and stuff like that.”
Klopp continued:
“He was there in the decisive moment, I’m pretty sure that already makes him a Real Madrid legend at a very young age. I hope he’s not fazed by any idiots who say something about him.”
Fans on social media reacted to the journalist’s question, with one calling it “bottom of the barrel stuff,” and another saying the journalist should be ashamed of himself for asking it.
Vinicius has been the target of abuse from some fans, and he spoke out against racism in September.
The Brazilian player has a tattoo of the phrase, “As long as the color of the skin is more important than the brightness of the eyes, there will be war,” and has said that he will not stop dancing despite the abuse he has received.
