A sixteen-year-old girl, Barakat Melojuekun, whose video went viral over the weekend after she claimed that the Ogun State Commissioner for Environment, Abiodun Abdul-Balogun sexually harassed her, has withdrawn her allegations against the now-suspended commissioner, saying it was as a result of “a few misconception and misunderstanding”.
Barakat in another video obtained by Eko Hot Blog on Monday thanked well-meaning Nigerians who showed her support and love after the first video believed to have been recorded by a police investigator went viral.
“I want you to know that there were few misconception and misunderstanding between I and the commissioner. And I now want to use this opportunity to appeal to meaningful Nigerians to please allow this matter to rest,” she added.

In another part of the video, Barakat’s father, Monsuru, also corroborated his daughter’s statement saying that “there was a few misconception and misunderstanding” between his daughter and the embattled commissioner.
He also appealed to Nigerians to “let the matter be laid to rest.”
