JUST IN: Admiral Joe Aikhomu Is Dead
- Admiral Joe Aikhomu, the younger brother of former military Vice- President, Admiral Augustus Aikhomu (rtd), is dead.
- Admiral Joe Aikhomu was also a member of the investigative panel set up by President Muhammadu Buhari to probe arms procurement between 2007 and 2015.
Admiral Joe Aikhomu, the younger brother of former military Vice- President, Admiral Augustus Aikhomu (rtd), is dead.
EKO HOT BLOG gathered that the late Aikhomu, who retired as the Chief of Administration of Nigerian Navy, died in Abuja in the early hours of Thursday morning from COVID-19 complications.
Aikhomu, who clocked 65 last year, was until his death a Director in Ocean Marine Solutions (OMS) owned by Captain Hosa Okunbo.

He was a serially-decorated Admiral well-versed in maritime operations and logistics, with special reference to the waters of the Gulf of Guinea.
Admiral Joe Aikhomu was conferred with a traditional title by the Okaijesan of Esanland and Ojirrua of Irrua, HRH Alhaji W.O. Momodu JP in August 2020.
He was also a member of the investigative panel set up by President Muhammadu Buhari to probe arms procurement between 2007 and 2015.
The panel was disbanded in February 2017.
