EKOHOTBLOG reports that for the second time in a year, Engr. Mu’azu Magaji has been sacked by the Governor of Kano State, Abdullahi Ganduje.
It would be recalled that Governor Ganduje had first sacked Magaji who was a commissioner after a post on Facebook inferred he mocked the death of Abba Kyari, the erstwhile Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari, who had died of complications from COVID-19.
However, some months later, Ganduje engaged him in another capacity.
He was appointed the Executive Chairman, state NNPC/AKK Gas Pipeline Project and Gas Industrialisation Committee.
But on Monday, Governor Ganduje terminated his appointment over “poor performance and insubordination”.
The latest development was disclosed via a statement by the Commissioner of Information, Muhammad Garba.
Garba stated that the controversial ex-commissioner failed to live above board in carrying out the responsibility assigned to him to oversee the project.
According to the statement, his leadership of the committee, which is to among other things, to coordinate in close partnership with the NNPC on timely implementation of the project has not been forthcoming in working to achieve the desired objective.
The statement added that the governor directed Magaji to hand over the affairs of the committee to the Deputy Executive Chairman, Aminu Babba Dan‘Agundi, Sarkin Dawaki Babba.
