Ekp Hot Blog reports that the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Fuad Laguda has coasted home to a landslide victory in Saturday’s by-election in Surulere Federal Constituency, Lagos.
Results monitored by this PM News on IRev portal of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) indicated that Laguda won massively in the six wards that made up the Surulere Federal Constituency.
As at 7:15pm on Saturday, all results of the 258 polling units have been uploaded, showing that the APC’s candidate won about 98 per cent of the votes cast in the election.
Core challengers, Adeola Adebanjo (Labour Party) and Jerry Afemighie (Peoples Democratic Party) posed no threat to Laguda’s aspiration.
The seat was declared vacant following Femi Gbajabiamila‘s resignation to become the Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu.
At the time of filing this report, INEC is yet to officially announce the results of the election, but the APC’s candidate is has won by an unassailable number of votes.
