JUST IN: Armed Robbers Attack Police Stations, Banks In Osun
- Armed robbers have reportedly attacked police stations and banks in Osun State.
Unknown gunmen suspected to be armed robbers have reportedly attacked two commercial banks and police stations in Osun State on Wednesday evening.
EKO HOT BLOG gathered that many residents were shot dead during the attack in Apomu and Ikire town in the state.
The armed robbers were said to have entered Apomu and Ikire through Ikoyi town and divided themselves into different groups before they attacked the police stations and the banks.

An eyewitness living in Apomu, who declined to be named, disclosed that he heard sporadic shootings near the premises of a commercial bank located in the Oke-Ola Area of the state around 5:30pm, while another resident of Ikire, identified as Oloruntoyin, said the armed robbers attacked a bank near Akire’s palace, as well as Ayedaade Police Station.
The resident further disclosed that the armed robbers later left the town and fled after some local hunters and police operatives engaged them in a gun battle.
As gathered by EKO HOT BLOG, the incident was confirmed by the spokesperson for Osun State Police Command, Yemisi Opalola, noting that a commercial bank in Apomu, a police station in Ikire, as well as Ikire Area Command of the police, were attacked by the armed robbers.
The police spokesperson, however, said the casualty figure could not be ascertained immediately.
