EKO HOT BLOG reports that on Monday, some bandits attacked intending pilgrims coming to Sokoto from the Isa Local Government Area.
By 7:30 a.m. today, Tuesday, the pilgrims were ready to depart for the Holy Land.
The bandits allegedly attacked their caravan along Gundumi woodland, but their security guards apparently stopped them.
While verifying the occurrence to newsmen, Malam Sirajo, a native of Isa town, stated the intending pilgrims were able to escape unharmed, and that some of them were restored to Sarkin Gobir Isa’s palace.
“They attacked their convoy, which was being escorted by security operatives who were said to have engaged the bandits for some minutes
“We learnt that some of the operatives sustained injuries, which I cannot verify,” Sirajo added.
