EKO HOT BLOG reports that bandits attacked a local mining site in the Kuriga area of Kaduna State and killed 13 miners, according to former Kaduna Central Senator Shehu Sani.
The PDP chieftain did not reveal when the said attack happened; he bemoaned the vulnerability of local miners in the state.
“Thirteen local miners were killed by bandits in the Kuriga area of Kaduna state.
“It’s baffling how the Chinese mine dealers operating within Kaduna and Niger states are getting full security protection while their local counterparts are left at the mercy of terrorists,” Sani wrote on his verified Twitter handle on Tuesday.
The attack is the latest incident in a cycle of violence that has killed hundreds in the past year.
A growing kidnap-for-ransom strategy has also seen more victims held in captivity for months.
