JUST IN: Boko Haram Group Attack Dapchi Community Again
Boko Haram terrorist group has again attacked the Dapchi community in Yobe state shooting sporadically.
The insurgents were said to have invaded the town in gun trucks around 7pm on Monday.
The insurgents have set many houses on fire while the residents have fled into the bushes and other neighboring villages to escape the attack, Bala Bukar, a resident told TheCable.
He added that the military has deployed fighter jets to the area and have engaged the insurgents in a hot exchange of gunfire.
“The military and the insurgents are currently in a hot exchange of fire. Right now as I am talking to you, they are throwing bombs everywhere,” he said.

“The insurgents are currently occupying the town. But most of the residents have fled.”
The Police Public Relation Officer in the state, ASP Abdulkarim Dungus confirmed the incident but said the number of casualties are still sketchy as means of communications have been tempered with making contacts very difficult .
Efforts to speak with the Acting Assistant Director, Army Public Relations, Sector 2 Operation Lafiya Dole, Lieutenant Chinonso Oteh proved abortive as he could not be reached on the phone.
Ekohotblog recalls Dapchi first came to the front burner of national issues in 2018 when terrorists invaded the community and abducted 117 female secondary school students in the town.
While the abducted girls have been returned, five of them died in captivity while Leah Sharibu, the only Christian among them is yet to be released till date as she reportedly refused to renounce her Christian faith in exchange for her freedom.
