EKO HOT BLOG reports that President Muhammadu Buhari has strongly condemned the recent spate of killings in Benue State, where dozens of people were killed in the Umogidi community of Entekpa-Adoka, Otukpo Local Government Area.
The President has called for all efforts to be made to put an end to the “extreme violence” that has rocked the state in recent times.
In a statement released on Saturday by Garba Shehu, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Buhari denounced terrorism as a tool for inter-communal conflicts and demanded that the perpetrators of the recent attacks be swiftly brought to justice.
The President expressed his condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in the attack and ordered the secret services, police, and military commanders to increase surveillance in all affected areas and review security management immediately.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of those murdered. The entire nation stands united in the fight against the forces of terror and evil,” the Nigerian President said.
