Buhari has proposed an N819.5bn supplementary budget and has blamed the recent flood.
EKO HOT BLOG reports that President Muhammadu Buhari has asked the national assembly to approve a supplementary budget of N819 billion.
Buhari’s request was read by Femi Gbajabiamila, speaker of the house of representatives, during the plenary session on Wednesday.

He said the 2022 supplementary budget would be used to finance infrastructural projects across the country.
In the cover letter, he said the additional demand for N819,536,937,813 for next year was due to the devastation caused by floods on farmlands and road infrastructure.
According to the President, Nigeria witnessed the “worst flood incidents in recent history, which has caused massive destruction of farmlands,” adding that the country now risks food insecurity.
He stressed that the floods affected “several roads and bridges” across the 36 states of the federation.
The supplementary budget got to the federal parliament about 24 hours before the passage of the 2023 Appropriation Bill.
