Council Of State Urges CBN To Print More Naira Notes

  • The Council of State has urged the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to increase the production of Naira Naira notes.

  • The council made the plea on Friday during a meeting held at the presidential villa, in Abuja.

  • The meeting was presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that the Nigerian Council of State has shown its support for the Central Bank of Nigeria’s (CBN) policy of redesigning the Naira.

The council has asked the CBN governor, Godwin Emefiele to make the new naira notes available or recirculate old naira notes to ease the suffering of Nigerians.

The meeting which was held on Friday at the presidential villa was presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari.

The President chaired the National Council of State meeting to address the current upheaval regarding the naira redesign and the currency swap.
